President Rivlin And Terror Survivors Among Guests In HaRav Lau’s Sukka

President Reuven Rivlin on Tuesday morning Chol Hamoed Sukkos, in line with annual custom, visited the Sukkas of Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita and Chief Rabbi Dovid Lau Shlita.

The president was surprised to see Michal Solomon, the widow of Elad Solomon, who was murdered in the shocking massacre on Friday night in the town of N’vei Tzuf, who was invited by Rav Lau to his sukka.

“We are privileged to have with us members of the Solomon family, the heroine mother, who has no idea how her actions saved her children, and the precious children Hashem should give them the strength to live happily, all of us with them and never forget them.

The chief rabbi told the president that this family is proof of the pasuk הפכת מספדי למחול לי. He explained that “the family that has lost the most precious of all, but continues to hold the family and strengthen all members of the family as a tradition with Israel.”

Rabbi Lau told the president that “they are the offspring of the late Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem HaGaon HaRav Tzvi Pesach Frank ZT”L” and later said that on his gravestone it was written, at his request, that he had not left the country for a moment after making aliyah.

The President was moved by the family’s visit and said that Sukkos is a festival that brings all of Israel closer together and there is no greater excitement than to celebrate the holiday together in the sukka of the Chief Rabbi, who dedicates his life to loving others and connecting Israel to its heritage.

The rabbi and the president spoke about the fact that in all the sukkas in the world there are pictures of the Kosel and Jerusalem, “Sukkos is a Yomtov of bringing people closer together and we must start talking to one another and at each other.

Later, President Rivlin arrived at the sukka of Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef in the Sanhedria neighborhood of Jerusalem.
