Picture of the Day: #ChalkShabbat

Walking on the sidewalks of Crown Heights this Erev Shabbos you may have noticed messages in chalk scattered around the neighborhood. The messages wish “Shabbat Shalom” and have the time Shabbos starts this week.

Young volunteers spent their time after school to compose the messages, using a stencil and chalk, which include an encouragement to light Shabbos candles and a reminder about what time Shabbos starts.

The initiative is a product of the Levi Yitzchok Library, and is run by Fraida Glassner who is the project director.
